We are inspired to collectively work together to achieve a stable, peaceful, secure and prosperous Africa.

Our Mission

To generate new thinking and working relationships that contribute to changes in the way policy and decision-makers perceive and respond to public policy choices and citizen’s priority needs on the African continent.

Operational Principles of Engagement

We ensure international standards and principles related to promoting regional and cross- border cooperation, integration, independence, Impartiality, Credibility, Integrity, transparency and accountability are adhered and maintained at all times in the operations of our Center. We believe these principles can be achieved by pulling together our collective experiences into practice, by working with our national governments, policy makers, the public, civil society organizations, parliamentarians, the MRU Secretariat, ECOWAS, the African Union, United Nations, and international development partners.in ways that can make them more effective and efficient.

Our Aims & Objectives

To promote cross-border cooperation through the design and implementation of initiatives aimed at effective delivery of training, research, advisory support, monitoring and evaluation services in the fields of democratic governance, peace, security, transitional and access to justice, human rights and the Rule of Law, as foundations for achieving prosperity for the people of the Mano River Union, West Africa and Africa. Specific Objectives include:

To facilitate interactive dialogues sessions aimed at enhancing cooperation, and collaboration and promotion of cross- border information sharing and exchanges aimed at contributing towards improved governance, access to justice, peace, safety and security, and human dignity.

To design and coordinate democratic governance, community-based stabilization, peace, safety and security, transitional justice and reconciliation, border security and development research, training and capacity building initiatives;

To enhance synergies between improved regional governance and security policy development and implementation processes, including supporting a community- based approach to the delivery of peace, safety and security services;

To facilitate interactive dialogues sessions aimed at enhancing cooperation, and collaboration and promotion of cross- border information sharing and exchanges aimed at contributing towards improved governance, access to justice, peace, safety and security, and human dignity.

To promote, advocate, lobby and increase citizen’s awareness raising, and sensitization interventions focused on the African Union Vision for “Silencing the Gun by 2030 and the Agenda 2063, and the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 16.
